Fouls


This is a compiled listing of penal and non penal fouls. Please refer to your "Laws of the game" book for additional information on each particular foul.

PENAL FOULS
Re-start with a DIRECT FREE KICK
or a PENALTY KICK  depending on where the offense is committed

NON-PENAL FOULS
Re-start with an INDIRECT FREE KICK

Kicking or attempting to kick opponent Dangerous play.
Tripping or trying to trip an opponent Impeding progress of an opponent (obstruction).
Jumping at an opponent (whether or not contact is made) Preventing  GK from releasing ball from hands
Charging an opponent Touching the ball a second time after the  ball is in play following a throw-in, goal kick, corner kick, penalty kick or free kick.
Striking (hitting) or trying to strike (hit) opponent Wasting time (includes GK holding ball more than 6 seconds)
Pushing an opponent. Goalie touches ball with  hand after release or after deliberate kick or throw in from teammate.
Tackling an opponent to gain possession but making contact with opponent first. Committing any other offense not previously mentioned in this Law for which play is stopped to caution or send off a player.
Holding an opponent
Spitting at opponent (send off offense)
Handling ball deliberately (incl. GK outside his own penalty area).
SEND OFF OFFENSES (RED CARD)
Not recommended in U10 or younger
CAUTIONABLE OFFENSES (YELLOW CARD)
Not recommended in U10 or younger
Serious foul play (includes tackles from behind which endangers the safety of the opponents) Unsporting behavior (includes particularly hard fouls)
Violent conduct Dissent by word or action
Spitting at opponent or other person Persistent infringement of the Laws
Denies a goal or obvious goal scoring opportunity by deliberately handling ball Delaying the restart of play
Denies an obvious goal scoring opportunity by an offence punishable by free kick or penalty kick. Failing to respect the required distance at a free kick or corner kick.
Using offensive, insulting , abusive or threatening language Enters or re-enters w/out ref's permission.
Second caution Leaves w/out ref's permission
