Referee InformationFall 2007 Referee Incentive Program |
This program provides rewards based upon the level of
participation of volunteer referees. It
is oriented toward increased participation of referees, and there are benefits
for all referees in our program.
Point
Structure:
One point will be awarded for each regular season game
completed on any game in division U10 or above for which that referee or
assistant referee is qualified. You
must be in uniform – club lines do not count. Qualification will be determined
by the referee administrator (or referee staff).
Bonus points will be awarded for the following per game:
1 additional point for being a
first year referee
1 additional point for being the “center” referee
1 additional point for signing up by Wednesday midnight
This means that a maximum of 4 points can be earned for one
game by a first year referee, and 3 points by a returning referee.
A “first year referee” is classified as one who became certified in
an AYSO Regional Referee Course after January 1 of the current year.
Rewards:
Each point is worth one “Ref Buck.”
A Ref Buck is worth $1.00 toward a variety of rewards in the form of
referee gear. A listing of additional rewards can be found at the referee tents.
Family members may combine Ref Bucks.
Ref Bucks must be redeemed by December 1 of the current season.
To redeem your Ref Bucks, contact the Regional Director of
Referee Assessment, Jim Fleckenstein, at james.fleckenstein@sbcglobal.net
Administration of the Program:
The administration of the Referee Incentive Program will be
handled by the Referee Staff of Region 121.
In addition to scheduling referees for games, the online referee
scheduling system will also be used to track the point status for referees.
The following procedures are to be followed:
· Referees are expected to sign up using the online system, by
contacting the referee scheduler (
· Referees will sign in at the referee schedule book at the
field prior to their games and will ensure that their names are printed on the
back of the game cards at the conclusion of their games.
· Referees will notify the referee scheduler in advance of any cancellations. Cancellations prior to game day should be made via e-mail to referee scheduler (CrowleKen@aol.com) prior to 6:00 a.m. on game day, or via telephone prior to 9:00 p.m. on Friday night. In the event of an emergency or last minute problem, referees are expected to either contact someone at the field who may be able to notify the referee staff.
· At the conclusion of games each Saturday, the referee
schedule will be reconciled against the records at the field to account for any
changes or cancellations. The
results will then be exported to a database to determine point totals for both
referees and represented teams.
· Point totals will then be posted on the Region 121 Website no
later than midnight on Mondays.
All referees have until midnight on Wednesday to notify the referee staff of any discrepancies. Notification should be via e-mail to the referee staff via regref121@aol.com. Any discrepancies will be investigated by the referee staff and a reply provided. Otherwise, point totals will be assumed to be correct and will stand.
