Referee training is broken into multiple categories. Referee for those that
want to do only the youngest players - U6 and U8. Regional training qualifies
you to officiate U10 and higher. Those that take the Regional clinic may do the
younger players if they wish, but you may not do the higher divisions with just
the U6 or U8 training. Assistant Referees support the center referee from the
sidelines. After you have a few games behind you as a Regional Referee, upgrades
are available to Intermediate, Advanced and National levels. The minimum age for
a referee is 10 years old to do the U6/U8 games and 12 years old to do the U10
games.
