Simi Valley U-14 Girls take second place in the Santa Clarita Showdown. With an impressive 2 wins and a tie, all with shutouts, the girls of Simi Heat advanced to the championship finals. Throughout the series, the team fought valiantly overcoming injuries and playing without substitutions. Their true team spirit burned brightly as they competed for their first tournament title. The Heat lost in their final game to Castiac in the middle of 95 degree heat. Goal Keeper Sammy Birch received a standing ovation from Castiac during the award ceremonies for her fearless efforts in front of the net. Coach Erika beams with pride over her girls who are some of the finest examples of good sportsmanship and un-surrendering effort to succeed in youth sports today.
The little team that thought they could, did it with style.
